While watching Billy Felts bleed the rear brake on Nick Wey’s Factory Suzuki before a practice session last week, we asked him if he had any favorite tips.
“Yeah, completely fill the reservoir with brake fluid. While there is a maximum fluid height mark inside the chamber, to ensure that there’s no chance of an air bubble getting caught in the fluid level indicator window, I like to fill it all the way to the top, and then drop in the rubber bladder.”
After watching Billy work, we’d suggest the use of an extra shop rag or two to catch the overflow when you drop the bladder into the reservoir. Once you’ve replaced the cap, give everything a shot of contact cleaner for cleanup.
