Tuesday Tip: Tire Trimming for Concrete Pads

At last weekend’s Prequel race at Glen Helen, the start pad was the same concrete gate used for all the races there …including the national.

Before the gate dropped for moto one, we spotted some tire trimming going on on Mike Brown’s rear Dunlop, and we asked him what was up. He told us, “When you do burnouts on the concrete pad, it leaves a little rolled edge on the front of the knob. We trim off a little bit of the front edge, so that it hooks up better after you’ve done your burnout and you’re coming off the pad.”
