Plus Coverage of Flat Track and Beyond

 Round 7 – Red Bull Southwick National – Southwick, MA – July 8, 2017

Southwick is known as one of the toughest tracks on the circuit, and Bell Helmets’ Eli Tomac proved, without question, he is the toughest guy in the series. Tomac easily won both motos to take the overall win. “We only have one really good sand track during the year and that is here at Southwick,” said Tomac. “It seems most guys either love or hate this track, but I’m a big fan of it and enjoy coming here. I think we’re in a good spot, points wise. We’re not really fighting anything on the motorcycle and it’s nice to head into the off weekend on a good note.”

Cooper Webb also had his best performance of the year at the “Wick,” placing his factory Yamaha on the podium in the first moto and finishing 5th in the second moto – taking 4th overall on the day.

In the 250 Class, Dylan Ferrandis posted 1/2 moto finishes to take 2nd overall on the day. Ferrandis is now 4th overall in the championship points. Seven of the top ten 250 class athletes rely on the Bell Moto-9 Flex helmet.

Eli Tomac went 1/1 on the day, dominating the 450 Class.

Cooper Webb had the fourth fastest qualifying time and posted his best results to date, landing on the podium in third in Moto One and getting 5th in Moto Two for 4th overall on the day.

Dylan Ferrandis won the first moto and followed up with a 2nd in Moto Two for 2nd overall.

Joey Savatgy posted 7/5 moto finishes for 6th overall on the day.

This race marked Mees’ 25th overall career victory as he put his Rogers Racing Indian Scout on top of the podium for the 5th time this season. “My team means the world to me. They never stop – just like me. We work extremely hard… you’ve definitely got to put in the hard work. We were good out of the box. From the first lap in practice to the last lap in the Main Event, I feel like we were the dominant guy and it showed.”
