I am in the market for a new bike and am having trouble deciding what to get. For the past couple of years, I have been riding an '02 YZ125, and know that a bigger bike will help out my riding a lot. I have ridden 250F's, and the two-stroke 250's, and have had a 450F out on a track once last summer. I am leaning towards getting a 450F, but am unsure if the jump from the 125 will be to much to handle. I know that I can handle the bike, but I am just stuck between a new 250F or a 450F. Opinions are much appreciated.

First of all it depends on how will you use this bike. Racing ? Free riding? 450 is a powerfull machine and need lot of training to get fun out of it, otherwise a 2504t will be much easier and funny to use. If you're using the bike for fast freeriding on the desert or so a 450 will be better due of its bigger engine, but for practicing in a track I'd chose a 250 4t. But remember that a 250 4t it's more expansive with routine maintenance cause of higher Rpm range you'll ride it. Engine will be much more stressed than a big thumper.

Thats tough.
If you can handle a 450F then go for it.
I think a suzuki 250F would be good though.

How old are you?  How much do you weigh?  Will you be racing moto?  Off road riding?

just curious about the hole more expansive maintenance thing, wouldn't the company who designs the bike put in the fact that its a higher rpm range therefore making the engine able to handle it so thus making any maintenance ruffly the same???
