I honestly doubt electric mx bikes will take over…just doesn't seem like it'll happen, electric cars aren't gonna happen so it wouldn't make sense for bikes to as well…thats how it seems to me anyhow…

It will be if these gas mileage and global warming mandates keep going into effect, motocross will be outlawed because it is not a necessary mode of transportation; its extra carbon dioxide (the evil global warming causing gas,LOL what a joke) that you are putting into the air warming the planet (according to the so called “scientists” that have somehow proved global warming is man made with about 150 years of weather history) have you seen the price tags on one of those pieces of crap? Standard $7450 and High Power $8350
Its all garbage and a 250F or 450 doesnt pollute a lot anyway, but I cant believe you can actually ride 2 strokes in California without getting a ticket LOL

They had electric bike rice at the minimoto sx in vegas last weekend during intermission! There was one guy from each of the top moto mags and transworld had there own Dave Alcott out there! I was pretty drunk by then, but watching the electric bikes was pretty freaking entertaining and it was cool how they made no noise at all! Yeah its true there not as fast as gas bikes but maybe someday! I personally would never buy one now but who knows someday it might be are only choice! By the way Dave A. got DFL

dude…I dunno about y'all, but it would throw me off so much at first riding a bike that made no sound! I'd be overjumping and coming up short all over the place…if I lived long enough to get used to it, it might be fine but damn! it's bad enough whenever I get a new helmet…I'd never want one

Well, its not a bad concept. Battery Technology would have to go on the rise for one of these to even get close to matching speeds of a modern era motorcycle. Look at the Battery powered dragsters that are out there. Running 9-10 seconds, but with 18+ batteries that all just about die by the time they get to the line. To get the run time, and speed is unimaginable at this point.
