Was drunk and in front of a bunch of kids starts to urinate on the ground then gets in his rent a car (a chevy cobalt) and flips it. And I believe Josh Hill was in the car with him.

I think it is sad that guys with that much talent, can't see what they have and how easily it can all go away!

This sport is about training, eating right, hard work and dedication. It sucks when one person whom kids look up to goes out and ruins it. He has a responsibility to his fans not the over 18 crowd but the 10-16 crowd that look up to him. They will look at him and be like sweet I can party and moto why train, J Law didn't.

Sad because he was such a screw up and I thought he had really changed.. Thought he had figured out that hard work is were it is at..

He rolled the car on Friday night. And urinated on the ground on Saturday night during the pitbike race. Watch the race on speed and you will see Jlaw was not on it at all. Im not dogging Jlaw im a huge fan. He just makes bad decisions.

Jason Lwarence is a clown. He's got the potential to be a legend in the sport, but he's going to burn out quick. I'm curious to see how Yamaha deals with this. Supposedly they have already implemented some sort of punishenment. What I'm a little disappointed with is that J-law will keep his sponsorship. Kawasaki was swift to drop Jeff Emig when he got arrested and his public image beforehand was fairly clean. J-Law is already a known punk on and off the track and horrible role model (not exactly a sponsor's wet dream) and Emig was a multiple champion who despite an indescretion, was a class act. J-law has the potential to win races, but he's more concerned with being a rockstar and a tough guy. I would drop his a$$ if I was Yamaha.

Here's what Yamaha said.

Yamaha Motor Corp Regrets the Recent Actions of Josh Hill and Jason Lawrence
Posted: Jun 12, 2008

Cypress California, June 11, 2008 –Yamaha Motor Corp. regrets the recent actions of Yamaha of Troy rider Jason Lawrence and Yamaha Factory Rider Josh Hill during the Freestone National in Wortham, Texas on June 9, 2008.

Yamaha's Race Team has already implemented short term actions and is creating a long term plan to discourage these types of incidents in the future.

Josh Hill had this to say about this past weekend events, “I regret everything that happened off the track at the Freestone National. I embarrassed my family, myself and Yamaha. I hope I can turn this whole situation into a positive and look forward to the future.”

Kind of reminds me of the days when racers partied at Havasu and trashed rentals on a regular basis

Well today its a different world than when Jeff Emig got dropped. Yamaha would never drop him (J-Law)because  he would quickly get signed by another team. iTS MORE OF BUSINESS today than just morals. Its sad but thats the way it is. Nowadays privateer teams get huge sponsors so they have money. The only advantage of factory is equipement but also that is going to fade in near future. James will be on privateer team next year so you know they have a ton of $. You can bet RED BULL will be one of his big spomsors. Chad Reed is also trying to form his own team.and he said he will bring all manufactures bike and race whichever one he likes

Yamaha of Troy Sorry for Lawrence’s Unacceptable Behavior
- press release -

June 13, 2008

Valencia, California – Yamaha of Troy (“YOT”) regrets the unfortunate off the track action of their recently crowned 2008 Supercross “Lites/West” Champion, Jason Lawrence, at Freestone National MX in Wortham, Texas this past weekend.

YOT does not condone the type of behavior that Lawrence displayed and as a result has taken steps of their own to rectify the situation immediately, and have implemented policies and procedures so as to eliminate these types of unfortunate situations from occurring in the future.

Lawrence deeply regrets his off the track actions this past weekend and wants his fans and fellow racers to know that he’s extremely sorry to all, and sees this as a wake-up call. He realizes since winning the 2008 Supercross “Lites” Champion just a few short weeks ago he is not just another racer on the track anymore, but rather a Champion. He now has everyone watching his every move, and is very aware that he is being looked at as a role to young racers coming up aspiring to be a Champion, just like himself.

I feel that having fun is cool but there has to a line that these pro riders shouldnt cross and the factory or the b teams should have a drop dead line. If you do this while riding for my team you will be dropped… no fine, no slap on the hand, just winner or looser… and J-Law falls into the looser category.

I also dont care how his parents raised him or didnt raise him, if he had a bad child hood you would think that he would be like damn I love the good life better then what I had I am not going to do anything to screw this up.. So I am going to work harder then anyone else and take this as far is it can go…

He deeply regrets his actions and he sees this as a wake-up call? Only time will tell. Until then he's just one more athlete that promotes the “bad boy” image. Guys like this make parenting more difficult. Now I have to explain to my kids that his behavior is wrong even though he gets paid  alot of money, gets alot of rockstar style praise, and his bosses don't hold him accountable for his actions beyond a slap on the wrist. Way to go YOT.

I just can't waite untill the A.M.A. is done with motoX ,next year is the last year and then the changes begin. THANK GOD.

It's pretty sad that J-Law will do this sort of stuff at the track.  If he feels that he needs to do things loke that then he should do it away from the track in his own home.  THere is no need for things like that to be happening.  Yamaha should have dropped him for that. He wasn't even off probation for a whole week and he has screwed up again.  All there doing is hurting themselves.  If stuff like this keeps happening then they will prob start to loose there sponsers and there funds

Yes he must be fun to have around to some…i even laughed at things you see in videos like metal mulisha even if i hate people that would throw food out the window at an poor soul on the streets…not all of us grew up with good parents around that could help you seem educated…sometimes they enjoy that as well(their free sprit i supposse)… who is to say.. but all i know is  the Jeff wards of the world are very rare and we are not likely to see that in Law in some distant future…we most likely will see just another Ron lechien… and the world will forget him…mind you, Ron lechien's talent cant be forgotten..
