I read the ad for the metal mulisha in the december issue that features Todd Potter.  it says “1st class tickets to slc $1,089, bar tab night before dew tour finals $469.00, flipping off the camera on live television $5,000 FCC fine and banned from the dew tour.  Not giving a damn, priceless!”

This just further convinced me of what I always thought.  These Metal Mulisha guys are a bunch of idiots.  I don't know why he flipped off the camera, if it was a disagreement with the judges, or he just thought it would be cool to do.  But i do know either way that it's stupid.  I also remember when the mulisha's kidney less leader ghost rode his bike of the finish line jump a long time ago.  I'm glad they banned him.  I think this behavior makes all mx/ freestyle riders look bad.  When I see these guys all covered in tattoo's and acting all hard and pissed of at the world I think of one word.  Poser.  What are they rebelling against, that they get paid to ride a motorcycle????  I would trade them jobs any day.  Drinking close to five hundred bucks worth of booze the night before the event i'm sure did nothing but help his results the next day.  Maybe he got so drunk he took home a fat chick the night before and the middle finger on live television was towards her?  Well any ways, these guys need to grow up and act like professionals.  I can see one upside in all of this.  If J-Law needs a new sponsor next season, i'm sure he will fit right in over with the Metal Mulisha posers.

Wow someone needs to get lucky.  Tattooed posers? I have alot of tattoos and its because i like art and every tattoo is of something that happenes along the way in my life. As far as making fun of Deegan , after you win a Supercross and land a 360 then you can bash Deegan .Untill then keep practicing!

I agree with Sikspak. I realize that they used to rebel and “hate” the world but do you realize that they all go to church together on Sundays and put on an abundance of demos for people. Go to a demo and see how they act towards their fans, especially the kids.

I agree with both of you. They are good people and do good things, but people who are outside the sport, of getting introduced dont know that. they will think there “some crazy poser”. as for tatoos nothing against em. i think if people in the sport acted just alittle more resonable, then they might not get that label.

for real when you start your own club that is as succesful as the metal mulisha and you can land a 360 and win a supercross then you can complain, but i think the mulisha has all the rights in the world to do that.  And no i dont think its one bit stupid cause todd potter just did what every other mulisha member would have done and thats just the mulisha.

todd  potters mother sent me an email regarding this post.  In it she said that todd did not flip anyone off but he was showing the metal mulisha insignia on his middle finger of his glove.  That sounds like bs and the ad in the magazine said he flipped everyone off.  And personally I really don't care about the metal mulisha, I just think they try to portray the wrong image.  Maybe they are all great guys, but it seems they are trying to portray a certain image, and riders like Travis Pastrana and Nate Adams do not have this bad boy image and I think they are more positive for the sport.  Really though, i think freestyle is boring.   You can only see backflip variations for so long before it gets old.  Yes I know the sport is evolving and there are always new tricks but its just not as exciting as a good motocross race.  And I did not mean to offend anyone with tattoos.  I have 6 myself but most people look at people differently who completely cover themselves with tats.  When I go to a job interview I make sure they are all covered.  And one thing I was trying to point out is that getting hammered the night before an event does not help.  It seems many freestylers party quit often.  I've learned along time ago that getting drunk and racing the next day does not work out to well, and josh hill and jason lawrence seemed to prove my point in the nationals over the summer.  The Metal Mulisha seems to relish in the fact that they can party all night and then go do there thing.  I sure wouldn't want to be hung over doing that smash cause it really can mess up your timing.  And I sure hope those guys have health insurance.  Motocross is dangerous enough, freestyle is asking for it.

Seems to me deegan has done pretty well for himself. i saw his pad on mtv cribs , looks pretty nice. nice lookin` ol lady , kids , the man`s got life by the shorthairs.

However i did beat him at hot springs rd on a 97 cr 250 on an outdoor track out freeriding back in 98 , and i`m an average intermediate level mx er ,he said you want to go hit some jumps , i should have taken him up on it.  Come out to Cahuilla creek in anza and let`s see if you can hang on for 5 laps! either way congrats on your sucess !

I'm “down with the mulisha.” :)

We spent all day at Deegan's place today. The guy hasn't changed at all since I first met him and he was driving a beat down F-150. Good for him. I am glad to see him successful.

There is no better of a group of riders to represent the FMX circuit than the metal mulisha.  Deegan has been a top rider for how many years now? These guys totally represent what fmx is all about and if you dont understand it then you prob shouldnt be around a dirt bike. maybe think about switchin to a diff sport like golf or baseball if your so worried about who represents your sport…. you will fit right into those sports.

There is no better of a group to represent fmx than the metal mulisha. These guys live their lifes to ride and please their fans. How long has Deegan been a top name in the fmx circuit? If you dont think they should represent fmx then you prob should not even be around a dirt bike. Maybe get into a different sport like golf or baseball…. maybe those sports represent you better as a person those pros will prob fit your view on how your sport should be represented.  FMX doesnt have any rules and i would say the metal mulisha does an awesome job in representing this sport.
