This isn't nessacerily MX related but you all ride a bunch so i thought i might just ask. I am a frequent off road rider who rides a 2002 CR250. I like riding the trails and desert so i need to have a green sticker bike, which one dhould i get. I also want to be able to go to the track any day of the week and be able to rae and not be humiliated. My options are a 2002 CRF450R, or a KTM 250 XC-F or XC-F-W. Please give some advice.

The 450, but if you want a 4 stroke running nice you will need to put some money into it.

ktm 250sxf thats all the bike u need, i test road them out at perris raceway in cali and i have nothing bad to say. that bike is one of the best bikes i have road in my racing career! get one put the fmf fact.4.1 on it with a maga bomb and add the jd jet kit and you have the perfect bike for your riding style!

i would reccomend the ktm 250 xcf-w for desert, just becase the w basically means wide gear ratio, and thatbasically for climbing and low speed terrain. if you want to start riding track i would def. get the 250 xc-f. iits an awsome bike it has the closed gear ratio so its a lot faster on the bottom but yet it is still perfect fo the desert as well. i have a 250sxf but i have ridden both of the ktms you are looking at and i would reccomend the 250 xc-f for you particular riding conditions

What you need to get is a 2009 CR450F that thing is amazing. And for what you do it sounds like a good bike for you. It's a little spendy but I would never buy a used 4 stroke ever, very very lickly to blow up on you. If you where leaning towards a used bike I'd buy another either 2004-2009 CR250R or a RM250R 2 stroke that will definatley fit your needs. PEACE
