I have a 2003 yz 250 and it has some issues. It is spewing black oil out of the silencer and making a mess of my bike. I recently had it jetted and it still does it. I am mixing at 50:1 and have tried to lean it out a little from there, but still the same. Am I just still mixing rich or to have bigger problems? I put a new FMF pipe on it this year, could that be effecting it? Please help if you can!!!

Sure you've got your mixture right? 50:1 is super lean, def. shouldn't be spewing anything black at that mixture. Have you tired different premix oils?

your bottom end is probably cracked inside your motor and its transmission (clutch) oil thats coming out, no premix is black especially when its mixed 50:1

All you have to do is repack your silencer. The packing in there now is saturated with oil. Just buy some packing.

How are you riding the bike? I used to have the same problem with a CR 250 when I was bogging it down a lot. If your jetting is correct, I'd start with the packing it's cheap and easy to do. 50:1 is very lean, I wouldn't go much further than 40:1. OEM is 32:1 so be careful with that.
It could be partially attributed to gas quality. If your buying gas with ethanol mixed into it, there could be problems. Ethanol is a less efficient burn I've heard some estimates in cars loosing anywhere from 5-10% horsepower. If the packing doesn't work buy some avation gas and see if that helps. Good luck.

dood… its your case.. no premix is black and you arent going to spew black oil everywhere from your premixed gas, the ratio just isnt high enough and the flow of the gas is so small it just doesnt happen..

I would repack the silencer, but I might have to agree with Evan. My '96 YZ125 had the same problem, eventually I blew the connecting rod through the bottom of the cases. Doohh, that was some costly repairs.

U guys gotta be kidding me. It has nothing to do with your premix ratio or silencer packing or how hard you twist your throttle. Crank seal … maybe, but highly unlikely. Try re jetting your carb again …. properly !!
