Monday Kickstart - Unadilla
40 years of legendary motocross racing marked the eighth round of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championships this weekend. Racing legends from many different eras all joined in the fun for what was dubbed a “retro” National. By most accounts, Unadilla was viewed as the rough track so far this year, despite, or perhaps because of the excellent prep done on the track. As we head into next weekend at Budds Creek, Chad Reed is now the undeniable points leader in the 450 Class while the battle rages on in the 250s between Christophe Pourcel and Ryan Dungey. Dual points leaders coming into ‘Dilla, Pourcel now has a six-point advantage as the series heads to Maryland. But rest assured, the championship is far from over.

Once you get the ball rolling, all you need to do is maintain that momentum. Lucas Moraes has been plugging away all season to qualify for his first National on his Star Racing Yamaha. He finally did the feat at Millville, and has qualified for every race since. He almost scored his first points at Unadilla until a crash dropped him back late in the moto. Keep an eye out for the friendly Brazilian #455
