Yesterday afternoon, Yamaha Motor Coporation officially honored their newest Supercross Champion, San Manuel/L&M rider, James Stewart. The event took place at Yamaha’s headquarters in Cypress, CA and all of the Yamaha employees were invited outside to take part in the celebration.

We’ve heard from several fans in the stands that following the Jacksonville Supercross main event – in which James Stewart and Chad Reed had the crowd on its feet – the defending Supercross Champion rode up beside Stewart as he saluted the crowd and grabbed him by the neck and proceeded to shout into his helmet. Having seen the two riders exchanging words on the Speed TV coverage but not the “neck grabbing” incident, we attempted to follow up with James and Chad. Calls and text messages made proved fruitless, so we decided to check in with L&M Racing/San Manuel/Yamaha Team Manager Larry Brooks.
