After spotting a post by GuyB on Vitalmx.com’s message board, we did a little investigating for ourselves and found out that it is in fact true—Mike Alessi broke his knee cap today while riding. Initial reports had him practicing at or near the High Point track. Apparently, he lost control, flew off the track, and struck a post with his left knee. We’ve been told that he is out for six months.
Stay tuned for the official release from Suzuki in the morning.

Rockstar Makita Suzuki Factory Racing announced today that two-
time AMA Supercross Champion Chad Reed will contest the 2009 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross
Championship after having opted to sit out the last two MX seasons.
As the defending champion, Chad Reed wants very badly to defend his hard earned title. After Salt Lake City, however, the Australian currently sits second in points behind James Stewart who now has a six point lead.
