Ricky James And SoCal Super Trucks In Arizona

“Ricky James and the SoCal SuperTrucks Super Lite Look to Repeat Their Success This Weekend in Surprise, AZ”

lucas-portrait

October 14, 2009 (San Bernardino, CA)—SoCal SuperTrucks and Ricky James, the 21 year-old paraplegic race car driver from Murrieta, CA, are gearing up to defend their recent domination within the Super Lite class of the Lucas Oil Off Road Race Series this weekend, October 17 & 18 in Surprise, AZ.

James stunned the competition in late-July by winning the previous two rounds of the Lucas Oil Off Road Series in Lake Elsinore, CA, where he competed as a Rookie and entered the weekend with limited testing within the truck.
Ricky James was well on his way to fulfilling a childhood dream of becoming a Supercross champion, when he was injured in a Motocross accident that left him paralyzed from his sternum down.  Since the accident, Ricky has accomplished more than most able-bodied individuals will do a lifetime.  In 2007, he competed in the SCORE International Baja 500. In 2008, he earned a Silver Medal at X Games 14 and won the West Coast Pro Truck Series Championship and Rookie Championship. Ricky also finished the 2008 Ironman World Triathlon Championship and a month later, won the Overall Ironman 70.3 World Championship.

“I’m looking forward to getting behind the wheel again this weekend,” said Ricky James. “We’ve had more time to prepare since the last race, so I’m pretty confident in our chances to take home another win.”

Ricky James is sponsored by SoCal SuperTrucks, K&N Filters, ICON Vehicle Dynamics, Racing Plus, Alpinestars, MasterShift, Oakley, Perseverance, and Total Power batteries.
