What brings you cross country from Texas to California? I moved out here to California with my girlfriend about 2 months ago to pursue my dream of being a professional motocross racer. I have Living the Dream out of Canada as well as my parents sponsoring me, without them I wouldn’t be out here. I’m very grateful that it has happened. What is your goal as you pursue your dream of becoming a professional motocross rider? My goal is to race all of the amateur nationals up until Loretta Lynn’s, then after that I will see if I am going to race the last four outdoor nationals or if I wait until the Winter Olympics to see if I have a little more progress to go before I turn pro. Then after that I will see whether I go to supercross or wait and train for the 2015 outdoor nationals. What has been your biggest accomplishment so far in motocross? My biggest accomplishment is probably getting top 10 finishes in all of my amateur nationals. I’ve also got the Valley Rising Star award from Texas, and also shooting an MTV show that was broadcast in 27 countries that featured me riding.
What do you do for training? I train at the Rockwell Training facility with Tyler Kalisiak, we do full body on Tuesday, Wednesday we do a core circuit, Thursday is another full body workout. That along with riding 4-5 days a week and racing almost every weekend. I am normally at the track Saturday and Sunday and then take Monday off. What else do you do besides motocross?
I play basketball, I like to wakeboard, BMX and baseball. I like all sports and any activity outdoors. What makes you pick motocross over all the other sports? I like being by myself as an individual and also I don’t like having to depend on other people. I like the extreme part of motocross and the super rough and rutted tracks. It’s a real mental game and I think it fits me more than any other sports.
