2016 Atlanta SX | Race Highlights

Presented by Factory Effex

Atlanta’s Georgia Dome opened its doors to the Monster Energy Supercross series for the 25th time, and kicked off the 2016 East Coast championship. Some of the best racing action seems to happen inside the Georgia Dome, and tonight was no different. After proving to be the fastest rider all day, GEICO Honda’s Malcolm Stewart looked to be the man to beat. However, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna’s Martin Davalos stole the spotlight in the 15-lap main event as he led from start to finish. In the 450 class, Red Bull KTM teammates Marvin Musquin and Ryan Dungey kept the fans on their toes for a near 20 laps, and with one lap to go, drama filled the stadium as lappers came into play and an error from Musquin allowed Dungey to take the win.
