TransWorld Motocross caught up with WMA National Champion Ashley Fiolek yesterday as she put in some last minute laps at the Honda Supercross track before headed to Los Angeles for X Games 15. Fiolek broke her wrist while trying to learn Supercross last year and was forced to sit out X Games 14, but it looks like she’s ready to contend for gold this weekend. What do you think? She will own the competition. Tarahgeiger did it last year and don't have the speed of Ashley, so i could see it possible for her to lap the majority of the field if not all of them. Will be interesting.

I highly doubt that! Although i dont thing she's not up to par with the pro guys yet. She is still way faster than any amateur out there. SX is a whole different ball game than outdoors and she's definitely adapting well. She's gonna do well at X! Go Ashley!

why does she have to prove ne thing against the guys. she doesnt race against the guys so it doesnt matter. she holds the number one plate from last year and has had the red points leader plate ALL season. shes the fastest chic out there.

This has nothing to do with this vid, but i have a question. I am having a discussion on youtube about the works SX bikes. I may be wrong but did'nt Tim Ferry's yz450 have only 2 gears? I was told on youtube that all 450's have gears, which i know for a fact they don't, but I would like to know if I am correct about Ferry's 450 when he was at yamaha.

Anyone that says local pros and intermediate riders would eat her alive dont know anythin about this sport. Look at the lap times in the nationals she has top 25 lap times for the lites class…And the lites class is faster than the 450 class…. Stop dissing the girl she rides very good and will qualify for a guys pro race at some point!!!

I so love girls who ride. Unfortunately where I live there arent any girl riders, so to be able to see a good female rider is just so awesome. I hope someday I can find a pretty girl who rides. Keep it up Ashley. You have a special gift, and don't let anyone tell you that you shouldnt ride!!!!!!! There are guys like me who would kill to have a girlfriend who can ride half decent.

wow impressive, you can tell she struggles to muscle the machine around but that is expected, shes tiny, she needs to get her bum more up the front in the corners and have here bum crack on the edge of seat, thats all i can think of off top. great riding

I dont see what the big deal is with this chick. Sure she is better than most girls but what about all those girls who are just as fast and just as cute? The ONLY reason Ashley has gotten so much exposure is the fact that she is hearing impaired. So what…big f-ing deal. Im not impressed. It is probly more of an advantage than a disadvantage…… I can see if maybe she had a prostetic leg or something. But for all you who think she is the fastest on a bike u should really think again…. Once Jessica the GOAT of womens motocross gets ahead of her she thrashes Ashley. Jessica has NEVER gotten the respect she deserves. Just because she is a little heavier doesnt mean she aint s**t… she kicks ass on a bike. So yeah, Im just sick of they way everyone making a big deal out of nothing…its all about this feel good bulls**t! Also the top three girls overseas will kill ANY of the girl riders over here….

Sponsors should include all those other girls who have had nothing and been following the circut for years instead of being all about the feel good BS…. I bet if some of those top girls had a nice bikes and were treated and trained like a factory rider there lap times would increase as well. And yes… She would get stomped buy ANY top local a, or b rider. Who cares if she can get into a main event, she will Never be top 10. Remember 2nd is the first looser and so on… what does it matter if she aint racing for first with bubba or dungey? Nothing against Ashley as a person or anything but lets BE REAL people……

Those beating Ashley up have never seen her ride in person. Her lap times on National level tracks are only a few seconds away from qualifying. She is dominating the WMX National series; through six rounds she has only lost one or two motos.
I don't really understand all of the "she'd get smoked by a local pro" comments. It's the typical man v. woman argument. Motocross is no different from other sports; men and women simply compete at different levels and are appropriately separated for that reason. Name another sport where men and women compete equally.
Fortunately, the factory teams and MX Sports are seeing the marketing potential that women have to offer and are ramping up their support.

I love that people hate on Ashley! The fact is , shes doing an incredible job at getting the WMA more in the mainstream and motocross as a whole more mainstream, which means more options for fans and riders to watch and participate! AND shes paving the way for chicks like Jessica Patterson to get a factory ride! She didn't get ALL her exposure because shes deaf!….She got it cause she's deaf AND WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS! Shes gonna SMOKE those chicks at SX at XGAMES! I got to meet Ashley last year with my son at Southwick along with JP and geiger…they were all cool and can ride their As*es off!…Keep rippin it up Ashley!
