He will surprise alot of people. Top ten in the 450 class is tough, but Lawrence is good. He needs this experience, it will make him grow up.

The guy can ride a bike, I don’t think anyone has ever questioned that. The problem with him is he thrives off of the negative publicity. This kid is in serious need of some direction, he believes everything is joke. Imagine what he could accomplish if someone could get through to him; right now he is a million dollar rider in a two cent suit.

Dont you see? Its all part of his master plan. He will take certainly make some of the biggest names in supercross look pretty silly this weekend. He will do well this weekend because he is enjoying himself in what he is doing while some of the others from 5th back are over it and burnt out with the seriousness of it all. wodayarekon?

I’m not really a fan but it is nice to see someone who isn’t a robot spewing sponsor names uncontrollably, I understand it fully and know it’s a necessary evil but it’s really getting to the point where it doesn’t feel like these guys are thankful for their sponsors they’re just going through the motions on the podium. Not to say that J-Law acts in a manner as though he wants to keep his sponsors, but hell, he makes it interesting. He’s great for attracting fans but he’s his own worst enemy. A simultaneous thumbs up and down for a kid with an incredible amount of talent who has his head stuck in the clouds.

give me a break top 5???? look at who all is riding lights out right now: stewart and reed (given), villopoto (will win before reed does point blank period) tedesco (killing it right now and i havent seen speed like this from him since he was in lites west coast) helpler (has the speed and the endurance but will he stay on two wheels?) Millsaps (since san diego he is turning it on i see another podium at daytona) Short (will always be in the front at the end and charging harder and later than anyone on the track) this is 7 riders and your gonna tell me hes gonna finish in the top five??? i say he wins the LCQ and finishes 13th in main no better.

Those guys see each other on the track a little more than we do see them, so maybe those guys know just a bit better who is faster than who… It’s a very different thing to do well in practice than in races.
I think Hill is one of the guys who can turn just as fast laptime as anyone out there but he just doesn’t perform in the races.
Just like Jeffro would say: “Supercross is a mental sport”.
Maybe he’s lacking the confidence to race the top guys. I belive he belongs in the top5 talent-wise…
Oh and btw… I think J-Law will do well @ Indy. Maybe not top5 like he would like, but in the top10 for sure. Watch out Mudflaps, Alessi, Red Dog, etc.

Pretty sad to see a young would be star waste an opportunity. No doubt he is fast, he is the modern day version of Lechien, so much talent, so much wasted, and yes appears to be wasted a lot. As long as he sells tickets he will still get rides. Smoke em if you’ve got em, my prediction for what it’s worth is that he gets slapped around in the main and will be lucky to finish without going down at least once. Top 10??? Depends on who he goes out with the night and morning before.

i really hope we see a lot of 2strokes this year. my buddy Joey Rossi is making his pro debut on a #628 KTM 250SX at Glen Helen. it will be huge if he, along with some other 2stroke kids, qualify or even crack the top 10 that would be awesome.

Aghh all this drama, who the heck cares. Racing is racing, motocross became so damn corporate it’s sickening. So many of the pros nowadays worry about what is the correct way to thank a sponsor and look good for the public so they can make more money. Instead of sitting their and doing nothing Jlaw got his own team. And if you open up a magazine there are so many riders saying how they wish it was less serious and that it should go back to the old days. Let the damn kid do what he wants, it’s his choice. And everyone who’s trash talking Jlaw, why don’t you go qualify for a national or a supercross and race him. If you want a corpoarate fake, prissy ass sport go play golf or something along those lines.

The kid is amazingly talented, no disputing that. What remains to be seen is whether he has the discipline to ride the big bike. He rides on the ragged edge, which you have to respect him for; however, he makes a lot of mistakes on a 250f they will get him spit off a 450. Time will tell….
If he campaigns a 2-stroke in the lites class he will be an instant hero.

Jlaw is one of the most talented riders out there. He has a style that is very much like stewarts. i’ve seen him stay lower on jumps and scrub harder than anybody out there!! He is very capable of top 5 !!

He was out of the title chase before he got suspended… suspension or not he wasnt going to win that title. Dungey made some mistakes last year and Lawrence, the only other real threat, capitalized… not with Weimer and Morais and Canard in the class this year… I know Canard has had some problems too but Lawrence might not have even been in the top 3 fastest all the time

Wow this is actually pretty interesting.
Hepler is faster than Hill, Lawrence is gonna be fast, but inconsistent and, he could not run the pace of Villopoto or Alessi in the Nationals, he never was able to beet RV in the Lites, and Alessi has far more years of experience on the big bike.
But hey, it calls for some interesting racing.

i hear law had another iv induced weekend that caused him to not race after timed qualifying in 5′th. i am wondering if he has a stomach virus and not saying squat about it? numerous riders through the years have had strange illness and kept it to themselves. if not; i want to know where law is eating at and getting all jacked up??!!

There is no way he is addicted to drugs. You cannot race at that level and smoke anything, let alone pot. The level of mental focus and training are so high that he would be nowhere if he did that stuff on a regular basis much less at all. Not to mention the fact that no one would sponsor him or invest anything in him. You cannot compete at the level he does and have any success whatsoever if you do drugs and anyone who says different has never done either.

He has amazing talent but definately not the smartest. J-law is a grown man that is a pro athlete. He needs to start acting like he has some sense!!
