The third and final moto saw Ryan Dungey lead Team USA to the overall by winning the final moto of the day in runaway fashion. Italy’s Cairoli and France’s Paulin went down in the first corner, effectively ending their country’s chances at the win. Ivan Tedesco overcame an early moto take out move by David Philippaerts and clawed his way back to seventh overall, securing the overall win for Team USA. France and Belgium rounded out the podium.

But the funny thing is that the USA didnt even have our best riders over there. HAHA still won. Those guys should have gotten a better start if they were really better.

October 4th, 2009 at 5:21 pm
because some smelly photographer jumped out and stood in my way
October 4th, 2009 at 5:40 pm
Don't they realize that people crashing is part of racing. Don't make execuse as to why your country lost. The US won because they were the best country in all 3 motos combined.
October 4th, 2009 at 5:40 pm
Dungey IS your best rider! Don't fool yourself about your "greatness"
October 4th, 2009 at 6:10 pm
THUNDER VALLEY!
October 4th, 2009 at 6:21 pm
Our 30 second board girls are hotter in the US of A

Anyway it was an exciting weekend, to bad about the last race it could have been a triller!
Imagen if cairol, desalle, reed and paulin wheren't crashed in the first lap…it would have been an ever greater showing of how beautifull an exciting mxon can be, Thanks to the riders

Great vid SWAP!
All the best to your Big Bro!
October 4th, 2009 at 7:58 pm
and now thats….5 years in a row now? but I swear europes riders are still better. The last 5 years have been flukes. HAHA. How many more chamberlain trophies will it take to shut you guys up and make you realize the best riders are here….in the USA!!!
October 4th, 2009 at 8:08 pm
No Dungey is not the best rider in US JS7 is and will be
October 4th, 2009 at 9:14 pm
Dungey is the man
October 4th, 2009 at 10:44 pm
I don't understand how people can even argue about who the best riders in the world are. USA didn't even send their best riders. Dungey is one of them, but Tedesco and Jake aren't even close to the speed of James and Justin Barcia, Mike Allesi, Ryan Villapoto, etc, etc. They still won with a sub par team. Amazing. Congratulations has to go to the victor.
October 4th, 2009 at 11:13 pm
the most pathetic thing of all is listening to all of you europeans cry about …oh well we didnt have some of our riders boo hoo.. first thing is ryan dungey is our best LITES rider… hes not our best 450 rider. and ivan tedesco? seriously 2 podiums this year… and one was in europe lol…on a serious note, how many people do you see dieing to go over seas to race in europe … and compare it to how many wanna race in america, the results might shock you but belive it or not the majority wanna race in america because if you win here, you have beaten the best
October 5th, 2009 at 12:15 am
Well Said Levi

October 5th, 2009 at 12:30 am

October 5th, 2009 at 12:35 am

USA won because we are the best and will be the best for a long time
October 5th, 2009 at 12:54 am

Levi you re part of the people who don t know much about MX. Let me explain you why the US championship is so famous and why many europeans want to race it…. First because moto maker invest much more money on this side f the wold…. so the contract are much bigger for the rider…. Second the Bonus for a win are huge compare to Europe because in the GPs there is no bonus for a victory or for a podium…
Even worst it cost 10 000 Euros/rider for a team for the inscription of a rider to the GPs…. So its simple to uderstand but I don t think you know about it.
50 % of the top rider is US came from the GP. let me give you a list of rider
Langston, reed, pourcel, rattray, searl etc….in the past Pichon, vuillemin Roncada, Thorpe etc… Even the coach of the US team is even not American… Decoster is from belgium…
About the MXDN 2009 in moto 1, Cairoi kick the ass of REED (outdoor champion 2009) and DUNGEY couldn t follow too.
Paulin won the moto 2… he is pro since only 2 years… and never ride before in 450 class.
Weimer (a kid that I really appreciate) never been able to follow Marvin musquin from the french team and world champ 2009.
So yes, US Team did a good job but had lot of luck….If no crash on the start of moto 3 the winner would be France or Italy……But the luck is part of the sport and maybe the US has been more patient and experienced than other team….
other team couldn t send their best rider….. Pourcel brother weren t here too…
I remember than last year JS lost a moto against Sebastien pourcel brother of Christophe pourcel!!!
October 5th, 2009 at 4:32 am
hahahaha. i noticed thta too.
October 5th, 2009 at 6:36 am
track looks gnar gnar
October 5th, 2009 at 1:47 pm
luck kisses U.S.A for victory ! but the best drivers were Italians.
October 5th, 2009 at 2:55 pm

We missed this huge crash at the first turn???? Other than that good raw footage
October 5th, 2009 at 4:11 pm
Your serious? I agree that not all the teams had all of there riders but America is the top. Every single GP rider that has come here has said its because they wanted to beat the best. If they are all racing for money they should hang it up.. RC didnt race for money, nor did Everts Im sure. If your fast, the money will come. They came here for different reasons than money. Have you talked to them? Im a Privateer and I keep going at it every year, and it sure as heck isnt for the money because all Im doing is loosing it. We didnt have our best guys, Reed is fast, and I like him, but he would have been beat by RV this year along with all of your Euro guys, Im certain of it. Reed very well could have been phoning it home just to get a good finish and not risk crashing. Which is EXACTLY what Stewart did with Porcel. In a head to head Im sure Stewart would have smoked Pourcel. Cariroloioli whatever his name is came over here is all kinds of hype how he was going to beat RV and he wasnt even on the same level. Blaming the tracks are no excuse. If your fast your fast. So with that being said, Caroili is on his home turf, whats your excuse there? He goes to all of these other countries and whatever in the GPs and can win, why cant he win on American soil? Its not like RV spent 10 months riding Budds Creek every day. You guys should listen to someone like Pingree and go ride instead of sitting here deciding who is faster. WAAAH WAAAH GET OVER YOURSELF. IF you think they all suck, why dont you go race them, I know I get my ass kicked every time I do.
October 5th, 2009 at 9:33 pm
sebastian only won against stewart last year because stewart went down with a 15 second lead and stewart villopoto alessi and ricky would have taken it to him any day and tedesco had a win and like 6 podiums get your facts right and jake had 3 overalls they sent the best people they could this year
October 5th, 2009 at 9:58 pm
they should of send
mx1: james stewart
mx2:ryan dungey
open:ryan villapoto
but still gret job!
October 5th, 2009 at 11:27 pm
Wow! Thank you! I always wanted to write in my site something like that. Can I take part of your post to my blog?
October 6th, 2009 at 1:33 am
you forgot to mention one thing. US riders are best in world.
October 6th, 2009 at 6:44 am
Maybe they'll do a night race?
October 6th, 2009 at 8:09 am
Anyone remember the feet on pegs, around the outside pass Everts did on Stewart a few years back???
October 6th, 2009 at 1:18 pm
where was js7 in the outdoors or the MXoN?
October 6th, 2009 at 3:34 pm

October 7th, 2009 at 4:11 am
mx 238: sry but villapoto is best. Crazy good race, just imagine if we had our fastest riders racing this thing, good job USA!!!
October 8th, 2009 at 3:00 am
You can hear the Whoop Monsters chainsaw in the background during the podium celebration!
October 9th, 2009 at 10:37 am
I do, this was a really great race!
But really, you can't compare JS with Everts, maybe he is the fastest guy on the track but doesn't have 10 MX World Championship titels! Everts plays in the same class then a ricky carmichel and what he have done in his last races with JS we all know…
PEACE!
October 11th, 2009 at 12:15 am
thats because were america. we have better everything
October 11th, 2009 at 12:17 am
and how is that? wheres the proof on the podium?
October 11th, 2009 at 12:21 am
only reason stewart took second is because he didnt need to win that moto to get first in overall pts to take first for podium. so he was taking it easy so he wouldnt crash. pourcel cant compare to stewart. sorry.
October 13th, 2009 at 12:11 pm
these guys did excellent.. congrats on the win
