The 15th annual Surfercross ended with a day on the waves at Trail Six on San Onfre in San Clemente. The secluded stretch of coastline was battered with whitewater waves throughout the day and challenged even the professional surfers, but this changed the outcome of the event drastically. Hours in the sun were spent watching two heats and the final round of action, and in the end, the final results were just as many expected.

The looming waves that crested deep in the ocean were taken on by only the best surfers, and kept many of the moto riders close to the coast, but they were no match for Jesse Heilman. The Florida shredder carved nearly every wall that came his way and propelled he and his teammate Chris Ploufe to the top of the charts in the surf portion. Ploufe, a regular of the event, held his own on the water and was one of the best of the motocross riders.Their performance landed them first in the surf portion of the event. After a mediocore day at the track, the dream team pairing of Cooper Webb and Sunny Garcia prevailed in the water, scored second highest in the surf portion, and jumped to first place overall.

Surfercross Industry Class
The early morning sets were a bit overwhelming for some in the industry class, but Shawn Heit and Greg Garrison were just as steady in the water as they were on land. The two upped their second place finish in the moto portion of the event to first and with that, claimed the overall win. A solid 11 score in the water kept Josh Shorter and Brendan Lutes high in the rankings, and despite the fact they did not compete in the final round, they held on to second overall. Rounding out the podium were Terry Beal and Ryan Fedorow, another pairing that were consistent in both disciplines.
