2012 TransWorld SLAM Festival Breaks Records
Justin Bogle Wins 2nd Consecutive SLAM Title
Carlsbad, CA -- A packed crowd and a beautiful, sunny Southern California Saturday set the scene for this year’s TransWorld SLAM Festival at the Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park that took place on October 13. The event featured open track riding, a Kids Learn-To-Ride track with MotoVentures, Rockstar Metal Mulisha’s FMX jump shows, a record-breaking vendor row including nearly 60 vendors, and the grand finale--the TransWorld SLAM Head-To-Head Pro Race.
With thousands of people in attendance this year, the tracks were packed, and the vendors came out in the masses, pumping out tons of prizes and giveaways. Jimmy Fitzpatrick, Robby Bell, and Derek Garland didn’t disappoint either, as the Metal Mulisha FMX riders wowed the crowds with their ramp-to-ramp death-defying air tricks at the Rockstar Metal Mulisha compound. The Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park was deemed the perfect venue for this entire event, as top pro motocross riders came out to race in the fourth annual TransWorld SLAM race on the specially modified track designed by Nick Wey. This year’s riders included: Ricky Dietrich, Austin Politelli, Dillan Epstein, Ryan Hughes, Justin Bogle, Christian Craig, Chad Gores, Andrew Silverstein, Mitch Alcorn, Mike Sleeter, Matt Goerke, Brandon Scharer, Kyle Chisholm, and Trent Pugmire. But ultimately, the final race came down to two TransWorld Motocross cover athletes-- Justin Bogle, who won the race last year; and Kyle Chisolm. Geico Honda’s Justin Bogle was the first TransWorld SLAM champion to return to defend his title, and he defended it indeed, winning his second consecutive TransWorld SLAM belt, prize money, and another cover for TransWorld Motocross magazine.
“This year’s TransWorld SLAM Festival was hands down the best one yet,” comments TransWorld Motocross Editor In Chief Donn Maeda. “The TransWorld SLAM Pro Race finals with Chisholm and Bogle really took the cake to end the successful, exciting, and event-filled day.”
