“Supercross finally made its way north to Indianapolis for the 11th round of the series. Indy is my hometown, and I always look forward to the round because I don’t have to travel far, and I can sleep in my own bed all weekend! The dirt is normally really soft from sitting out in the freezing cold all winter and then thawing when they bring it into the stadium. This year was no different, and the riders had to deal with a very technical track on top of the soft dirt and ruts. Access for us photographers has been severely restricted over the last few weeks, and that makes our job a lot harder. We’re only allowed to shoot from a few designated areas, and we used to be able to walk back and forth from those areas around the track, now we’re stuck in that area during the entire duration of the race, and we miss half of what’s going on because of the limited in our access. We’re heading to Detroit this weekend, though, and the dirt always seems to make for great racing. See you in Michigan!” —TWMX photographer, Ryne Swanberg
