American Suzuki Hires New Motocross and Off-Road Race Contingency Coordinator

BREA, Calif., Oct. 13, 2003 — American Suzuki Motor Corp. (ASMC) today announced that Jason Carlton has been hired as the new Motocross and Off-Road Race Contingency Coordinator. Carlton will provide on-site race support and handle all the responsibilities involved with Suzuki’s motocross and off-road racing contingency programs. He will report directly to Cole Gress, Suzuki’s Motocross Support Manager.

“Suzuki is very excited about Jason joining our race program, said Gress. “His background is in racing and he even participated in Suzuki’s contingency program as a racer. He’s enthusiastic about being part of the Suzuki team and has already become an asset to Suzuki.

Carlton, 22, is originally from Encinitas, Calif., and grew up racing motocross in the Southern California area. Currently, he lives in West Covina and attends California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, where’s he’s majoring in mechanical engineering.

“I am thrilled to be with Suzuki, said Carlton. “This is a dream come true for me. In my new position, my first goal is to get on top of the program and make it as efficient as possible for the racers. In the long term, I look forward to learning a lot and, once I get out of school, I’d like to get into R&D testing for Suzuki.

Carlton first came to ASMC as a customer service representative. He was hired as the Motocross and Off-Road Race Contingency Coordinator at the beginning of October 2003.
