Barnes and Fisher out of Canadian 125 East

Blackfoot Racing Honda Canada¿s Jason Mitchell announced that his star 125 East riders, Derrick Fisher and Matt Barnes, will not be campaigning the series due to injuries.

Fisher is experiencing problems with the leg he broke back in Daytona this spring and feels he won¿t be competitive enough to go for the title.

Barnes, meanwhile, injured his knee race in a regional U.S. race two weeks ago and has been advised by his doctor not to get back on a bike for at least two to three weeks.

Georgia¿s Shane Lusk (brother of Ezra) and Florida¿s Paul Perebijnos have been brought in by Blackfoot at the last minute to replace Fisher and Barnes.

¿We feel bad that Derrick and Matt won¿t be doing the series for us because we know we had two contenders for the title with them, but we respect their decision not to race,¿ said Mitchell. ¿We¿re happy to have Shane and Paul on the team, however, and are convinced they¿ll give us a really good shot at the championship.¿
