TEWART TAKES A VICTORY LAP IN VEGAS
After clinching the 2007 AMA Supercross Championship title in Seattle James Stewart took his victory lap this past Saturday in Las Vegas at Sam Boyd Stadium where to no surprise James came in 1st. At the Supercross Banquet held on Sunday Boost’s James Stewart took home the top honor awards Amp’d Mobile World Supercross GP and Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Series championships. “This has been an amazing year for me, Stewart said. “Everyone that has been behind me, especially my family, has helped me attain this goal. I am looking forward to an exciting 2008 supercross season. I hope to build off of this special season and have already started to set my goals for next year. James wasn’t the only Monster Energy Kawasaki member receiving an award as his mechanic, Jeremy Albrecht, also took home the Mechanic of the Year Award for the 2nd year in a row.
YAMAHA OF TROY TAKES 2nd IN THE EAST AND WEST COAST CHAMPIONSHIPS
The 2007 Supercross Season has come to an end but not without a fight from Boost Mobile Yamaha of Troy riders in the AMA Supercross Lites Division. Jason Lawrence battled for the AMA West Coast Lites Division Championship ultimately securing 2nd place overall in the division. J-Law wasn’t the only Yamaha of troy Rider holding down the overall podium spots Ryan Morais gave a fight till the end and earned 2nd place in the AMA Supercross East Coast Lites Division. While Morais and Lawrence were holding it down on the track Yamaha of Troy Team Manager, Chris McAvoy, was getting recognized by the AMA and received the 2007 Team Manager of the Year Award on Sunday at the Supercross Banquet.
