Crown AMG Announces Its Team For ’05 SX/MX Season

Jeremy McGrath and Sean Hamblin highlight list of Crown’s superstar athletes

CARLSBAD, Calif., (Jan. 11, 2005) — Crown Athlete Management Group (AMG) announced today its team of supercross and motocross athletes for the 2005 season, headlined by the greatest supercross racer of all time — Jeremy “Showtime McGrath — and another one of SoCal’s top ‘born & bred’ motocross racers — Sean Hamblin.

“All of us here at Crown AMG are excited about the new year and the opportunities for all of our athletes in both the pro and amateur ranks, said Scott Sepkovic, President of Crown AMG. “And this year we’re especially excited about continuing our relationship with Jeremy McGrath and his return to supercross action with the Factory Honda team.

In addition to McGrath, Crown AMG has lined up an excellent opportunity for fan-favorite SoCal racer Sean Hamblin. Coming off a factory ride, Hamblin — as did several other top riders this year — needed to put his own team together to compete in the upcoming THQ/AMA Supercross Series and the AMA Outdoor Nationals. Hamblin looked to longtime friend Sepkovic to put this team together and is pleased with the way things have turned out — especially on such short notice.

“I’ve know Scott for a long time and trusted that he’d be able to handle all aspects of building a team around me from the ground up — which he has done very well, said Hamblin. “Without having to worry about bringing this together myself, I’ve been able to focus on my riding and conditioning and am looking forward to some excellent results when the supercross season gets started this weekend in Anaheim.

Added Sepkovic: “Both Kawasaki and Pro Circuit stepped up big for Sean, as did Monster Energy Drinks. Sean’s a proven commodity on the supercross and Nationals tour, a fan-favorite where ever he goes and will no doubt put up some good numbers for his generous sponsors this season.

Also highlighting the pro racer stable for Crown AMG will be longtime Crown client Tucker Hibbert. Hibbert, who’s still considered one of the top snowmobile racers in the world, is sticking to his dream of making it as a pro motocross racer and enlisted the help of Crown AMG to make his dream come true.

“First and foremost, Tucker is an amazing athlete, said Sepkovic, who added Hibbert has been training for supercross with Kevin Windham. “He’s one of two athletes on the planet that can win a national snocross race, then turn around and be competitive at the national level on a dirt bike. For ’05 he’ll be riding the 125 East region on Hondas for the Motosports Outlet team this season, with assistance from Monster Energy Drinks. Hibbert will again compete in the highly popular Winter X Games snocross competition — an event he’s won in the past (2000). Adding a bronze medal last year (to go with a silver in ’02), Hibbert is also the defending champion in the Jeep Adventure Comp (timed Jeep race up Buttermilk Mt.). Noteworthy: Hibbert donated his Jeep Adventure Comp purse ($1,000) to the Clayton Memorial Foundation.

Rounding out the Crown AMG team will a couple young and hot prospects in Kyle Partridge ( and Josh Summey (Samsung Sprint Wireless/Honda). “Both Kyle and Josh are set to have breakout years with these excellent teams they’ll be racing for, said Sepkovic. “Both will be competing in the 125 West Region for supercross and are pumped to get things started.

On the amateur side of racing, Crown AMG’s proud to have two of the hottest prospects in the nation — Jason Lawrence (Suzuki/Monster Energy Drinks) and Austin Stroupe (Kawasaki/Monster Energy Drinks).

“Both Jason and Austin put up some outstanding numbers at national events such as Loretta Lynn’s, Ponca City and the recent Mini O’s, said Sepkovic. “Crown AMG is proud to be aligned with the future of the sport and will work hard to make a name for these athletes prior to them turning pro.
