Defending National Arenacross Champion Chad Johnson Conquers Charlotte

AURORA, Ill., November 5, 2006 — Suzuki’s Chad Johnson took the field to school winning the AMA Arenacross Class tonight in Charlotte Bobcats Arena. It was Kevin Johnson that got the jump off the gate and winning the holeshot. Kevin’s lead was short lived as hometown favorite, Jim Neese, passed the Team Faith rider on lap two. The Carolina Express rider would only lead for a short time before going down hard in the turn one giving Kevin Johnson the lead back. Chad Johnson was waiting his turn and got by Kevin near the halfway mark and never looked back. Points leader Danny Smith passed Kevin Johnson to finish second.

The large crowd enjoyed an all North Carolina podium in the AMA Arenacross Lites South main event. Jim Neese outlasted Tyler Bright and his teammate Jim Chester for the win.
