JULY 16, 2003 ¿ Extremely low water conditions along the Loup River at Headworks Park near Genoa, Neb. has forced the cancellation of this weekend¿s Red Bull Hydro MX, a one-of-a-kind motocross hydroplaning event scheduled for Saturday, July 19 in eastern Nebraska. A search for a substitute venue as dynamic as the site at Headworks Park was unsuccessful. Therefore, due to continued dry conditions expected this summer and scheduling conflicts with the participating motocross riders, Red Bull Hydro MX will not be rescheduled for 2003.
The Red Bull Hydro MX was to feature professional and amateur motocross riders, who utilize special paddle tires to hydroplane across sand and water, in a competition to determine the nation¿s best motocross hydroplaner.
The event was organized in cooperation with the Nebraska Off-Highway Vehicle Association (NOHVA), a not-for-profit Nebraska organization formed in 1988 for the preservation and advancement of recreational all-terrain vehicles and off-road motorcycle trails, riding areas, and activities.
