APPLICATION: All late-model four-strokes (tested here on the 2015 Honda CRF250R)
PRICE: $1,249.99 (Dual), $899.99 (Single)
WHAT IT IS:
The Factory 4.1 RCT titanium exhaust system by FMF is available for all late-model four-strokes, however; this system was designed specifically for 2014 and up Honda CRF250Rs. To decrease the weight of the stainless/aluminum stock system, FMF constructed the header, mid-pipe, and mufflers out of aerospace grade titanium, and also shortened the overall length moving the mufflers closer to the motor to centralize the mass. FMF also states that by shortening the overall length, the mufflers are less susceptible to damage after a crash, being that they’re more tucked in. With the FMF Mega Bomb header, you can also see horsepower improvements, as well as a decrease in dBs—as much as 1.5dBs.
-Right out of the box, this system is more visually appealing than the stock version with both the blue anodizing and carbon tips.
-There was a significant weight loss when compared to the stock system.
-Instructions were very detailed and thorough.
-Everything mounted up to our 2015 Honda CRF250R quite nicely, and no adjustments or prying was needed to make this system fit.
-Once we hit the track, we noticed an immediate improvement to the bottom-end and throughout the rest of the power curve. We tested this out at Glen Helen, and some of our heavier riders struggled with power up some of the massive hills, but saw an improvement once this system was bolted on.
-At $1,249.99, the FMF Factory 4.1 RCT titanium system is not exactly cheap.
If you’re a serious racer looking to improve the engine performance of your bike, or you’re just looking to give your bike a little makeover, you should give the Factory 4.1 RCT titanium system a look. We were quite pleased with the weight loss, improved engine performance, and the look our Honda was given.
