The Hahn Brothers--yes, Wil and Tommy-- are getting back to their roots in Great Bend, Kansas on Saturday, September 28th, by jumping into the world of race promoting and bringing the first-ever Hahn Brothers Supercross Shootout to the very same track that they grew up racing at. “Basically, Big Bend was the very first track that I ever raced at,” Wil told us, “and I think my brother had his first race there as well. I haven't raced there since I was pretty young, but it was a place that was really special to me, and thinking back now I really didn't appreciate it as much as I should have. When we heard that there was going to be a race there we jumped all over it!”
The Supercross Shootout will take place during the Big Bend Bike Rally, a daylong festival for all motorcycle enthusiasts, but the Shootout should attract more racers and racing fans this year, as both amateur and pro classes featured throughout the day should provide plenty of racing action of all levels. “A lot of the idea came from my friend Chris back home,” Wil Explained. “We grew up racing together, and we had a meeting recently and he kind of just threw it out there. They have a huge bike rally going on and basically he said ‘Lets put this race together.’ He tossed around a couple of ideas and we just said, ‘Yeah, lets do it!'”
Wil and Tommy won’t be competing in the Shootout, but the world-class Supercross riders will still throw a demonstration for the fans before the racing kicks off in the evening. “We'll be doing an exhibition ride. I think they initially wanted us to race but we want it to be fun and have the crowd get hyped up. I just hope everyone has fun, that's the main thing.”
