It doesn’t matter what series you’re talking about: the factory Suzuki race bikes are always among the coolest in the pits. At the Kyushu series opener of the All Japan National MX Championship, the works bikes of Yoshitaka Atsuta, Yohei Kojima (IA1) and Takashi Okano (IA2) were stunning, but didn’t look much different from what we saw last year in Japan. The biggest – and most surprising – change was the switch from Japanese Yoshimura exhausts to Akrapovic systems from Slovenia. Word we heard in the pits is that big changes are coming on the 2015 RM-Z lineup. Okano’s RM-Z250 is featured here, while Kojima and Atsuta’s RM-Z450s are displayed on page two.
As we said on the first page, the only changes to the Suzuki line were interchangeable, including exhaust, suspension, and motor work. This did not keep the RM-Z line from being lust worthy, as the bikes featured plenty of advanced works parts. Expect big changes next time we are in the land of the rising sun.
