Jono Porter Succumbs to Racing Injuries

We’ve received quite a few e-mails from our friends in Australia, passing along the tragic news that one of Australia’s most talented racers and freestylers, Jono Porter, passed away due to head, spinal and chest injuries suffered in a racing accident last weekend.

Here’s a bit from one of the e-mails...

“Jono was the most down to earth racer you would ever meet. He always took the time to say a few words to anybody about anything and nothing was ever too much trouble for him. He was also the first Australian to form his own team this year. Jono was only 23 and words cannot describe how the Australian motorcycle community will be feeling at the moment. He is best described as the Travis Pastrana of Australian motorcycle racing and freestyle. Always smiling and always ready to have a chat. He would jump things on his 60 as a junior that riders wouldn’t jump on their 125s. Freakishly talented, immensely popular and a top bloke!”

“Godspeed Jono, you were a true champion to everyone you touched.”

Please keep Jono’s family in your thoughts and prayers.
