Carlsbad, California (February 23, 2004) — Mounting his comeback from the injured reserve list, #68 Josh Hansen of Elbert, CO takes 2nd place at the Minneapolis THQ AMA Supercross Series 125cc Eastern Regional competition. Hansen was very impressive during his heat race with an easy 2nd place finish. Hansen’s dilemma originally began during the week of testing for Round 4 in San Diego, CA. Hansen, of Team Boost Mobile/Yamaha of Troy, suffered a mild concussion as well as a broken right hand while practicing at the Yamaha test track. All eyes were on the nineteen year old, as Hansen began the 2004 season with a promising start taking 6th at Anaheim 1. Hansen’s results from San Diego and Anaheim 3 were greatly affected due to his injury, which prompted the decision to sit out both San Francisco and Houston in order to prepare for the THQ AMA Supercross Series 125cc Eastern Regional. The 2nd place finish at Minneapolis proves that Hansen is healthy and is back in business. Hansen finished only 7 seconds behind the race winner Bubba Stewart.
Josh Hansen, son of 1982 AMA 250cc National and Supercross Champion, Donnie “Holeshot Hansen, finished 8th in the 2003 AMA West Region Supercross Series and is a 7-time Amateur National Champion. Hansen is eager to race in the next event at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, GA on February 28th for Round 9 of the THQ AMA Supercross Series 125cc Eastern Regional competition.
Josh Hansen would like to thank his supporters and sponsors: Yamaha of Troy, Boost Mobile, Thor, Alpinestars, Smith, DC Shoe Co., Kicker, and Donnie Hansen Motocross Academy.
