The last two weeks have been filled with numerous questions, speculations, and predictions of who will be at the top of their game in this year's Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship. But when the 30-second board turned sideways for the first race of the season at the 2013 Hangtown Motocross Classic, the sunny skies over Northern California's historic track finally shed light on answers of what's to come.

450 Moto One

Yoshimura Suzuki's James Stewart grabbed the first holeshot of the season in 450 moto one, but Monster Energy Kawasaki's Ryan Villopoto stole the lead from Stewart in the early laps of the race, and then to pulled away from the field. Red Bull KTM's Ryan Dungey battled with Stewart soon after and took over the number two position with hopes of setting his sights on the leader, but the hard charging Villopoto was too far gone. Ryan Villopoto took the checkers and the moto one win, Dungey finished in second, Stewart in third, Trey Canard in fourth place, and Justin Barcia finished in fifth.

450 Moto Two

James Stewart proved he had his starts dialed in by taking his second holeshot of the day in moto two, with Dungey and Villopoto close behind in second and third. An immediate 3-way fight for the lead ensued, and while attempting to get around the yellow number 7, Dungey almost tossed his race away after making a mistake and running off the track. A relentless Villopoto, however, stole the lead position away on the very same lap, and checked out. Villopoto finished 1-1 on the day with the win, Dungey's second place gave him second overall with a 2-2 score, and Stewart finished in third and 3-3 on the day. Trey Canard finished in fourth and Justin Barcia took home fifth.

250 Moto One

The defending 250 champion Blake Baggett was the quickest to turn one in the first 250 moto of the year, with Musquin, Tomac, and Roczen all behind him in hot pursuit. Red Bull KTM's Marvin Musquin didn't hesitate to pressure Baggett and he contested for the lead on the first lap. Musquin made the pass to take over first place, but his teammate Ken Roczen had other plans. Roczen made his way past Tomac and Baggett, and then went to work on Musquin to steal the lead. After taking over the lead, Roczen pulled away to capture the first win of the season, Tomac finished in second with Baggett and Musquin in third and fourth. The rookie, Cooper Webb, making his pro debut rounded out the top five in fifth.

250 Moto Two

GEICO Honda's Zach Bell snagged the holeshot in moto two, but lost the position to Jake Canada before the second turn. Canada's lead was also short-lived, as Ken Roczen backed up his first moto performance and took over the lead before the first lap was even halfway over. Bagget moved his way into second right behind Roczen, with Osborne, Wharton, and Musquin in tow, but Roczen made a statement to the rest of the field, as he then set the fastest lap time of the moto and pulled away. Roczen took the win, Baggett finished second, Tomac worked his way up to third, Musquin grabbed fifth, and Osborne finished in fifth.

WMX Moto Two

Jessica Patterson had better luck in moto two and rocketed off the gate to take the holeshot and the lead. Patterson ran up front for a few early laps, but the 17-year-old, Courtney Duncan, caught Patterson as the race progressed and sped away to take an easy win.
