Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki Superstar ¿06 SX Line Up

Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki boasts the most powerful AMA Supercross Lites team on the circuit

CARLSBAD, Calif., (Jan. 5, 2006) ¿ Officials at Monster Energy wanted to take a moment to wish their Amp¿d Mobile AMA Supercross Series riders the best of luck for the coming competition season.

¿Monster Energy is back with even more love for the sport of Supercross in 2006,¿ said Monster Energy spokesman Scott Sepkovic of Crown AMG. ¿Everybody back at Monster Energy headquarters were going Richter when Tedesco and Langston won the Supercross titles last year. Monster Energy easily had the most visibility out of any energy drink on the tour last year. And with that in mind they¿ve upped the ante for ¿06 with Pro Circuit/Kawasaki.¿

The mighty Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki team features racers Grant Langston, Ryan Villopoto, Ben Townley, Chris Gosselaar and Troy Adams. And though Langston returns as the only defending champion (AMA SX Lites East), Townley was the 2004 GP Series¿ MX2 class champion and third in MX1 last year. In ¿04 Townley won nine GPs to become the World 125 GP champ.

Langston will for certain be the leader of the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki team. A former GP champ himself (125 class in 2000), Langston added an ¿05 125 class Supercross title to his 2003 Outdoor National 125 class title ¿ making him the only racer in the sport¿s history to win those three coveted 125 class titles.

Adding to the Monster Energy-fueled firepower of Langston and Townley will be arguably the fastest AMA rookie motocrosser last year ¿ Washington¿s Ryan Villopoto. The Horizon Award winner for the top amateur last year turned pro at Binghamton and paid instant dividends for Mitch Payton¿s team, capping the season off with a season-best second place finish at the rugged Glen Helen track.

The final racer in the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki line up was supposed to be Floridian Flyer Troy Adams. But Adams, who was on the 125 class podium two years ago at Steel City and last year at the Daytona Supercross, injured his leg and is not expected to race until the eastern portion of the AMA Lites class kicks in at St. Louis¿ Edward Jones Dome (Feb. 18th). Taking Adams¿ place with the team will be a formidable athlete, no stranger to the front-runners of the AMA Lites class ¿ Chris Gosselaar.
