The Muscle Milk TWMX Race Series visited Racetown 395 in Adelanto, CA for the third round of the Spring Cup. The circuit's layout is a mixture of technical jumps, rolling whoops, and rutted corners, a hybrid of both Supercross and motocross. A weather front hit Southern California and brought high temperatures and winds to the high desert, but the efforts of the Racetown staff kept the track in raceable condition, even with a total of 30 motos on the day's schedule. To help battle the heat, vendor's row had an array of refreshment options to choose from, including fruit smoothies and the always-stocked Muscle Milk coolers. Former professional racer Kyle Lewis was present on behalf of chemical company Kal-Gard, who also had their entire catalog of oils and cleaners on sale.
Once practice concluded, the day's racing began with a stacked list of entrants, the Novice, Intermediate, and Pro classes did not disappoint. Chad Blackburn and Kyle Frye diced for the lead in the Novice ranks, while Matt Hubert, Dylan Anderson, and Kristoffer Palm ran the front of the Intermediate field. Travis Bell swept both Professional classes and held off the advances of the speedy Kris Keefer. The Open Non-Pro two-moto duel of Austin Thompson and Colton Fant was another thrilling battle, as the two racers swapped moto wins, with Thompson netting the overall.
The Muscle Milk TWMX Race Series will once again make its way to the famed Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino for the fourth stop of the Spring Cup on May 6th, and we hope to see you there.
