After a five week hiatus from the opening round, the 2014 Muscle Milk TWMX Summer Cup is officially back with every bit of excitement that we left off with. Competitive Edge MX Park was host to round two of the hottest series of the year-temperatures well over 100 degrees scorched the High Desert motocross facility, but the extreme heat didn’t lessen the crowd one bit. In fact, It seemed to attract more riders because everyone knows that if you can ride in that kind of heat, you can ride in anything.

The Muscle Milk TWMXRS has been around for a few years now and everything is more established than ever. With that, comes more and more new sponsors to help keep the series fun, competitive and rewarding. Among a few of the newer sponsors is The Mainline Coffee Co. They were serving up cup after cup of iced coffee that morning keeping everyone cool and awake. ODI was on hand, as well with all of the handlebar goods and Leatt-Brace, as always, kept everybody protected with everything from their neck braces to their chest-protectors. One Industries had some of their newest gear on display for everyone to check out and the always present EKS Brand Goggles crew was on deck with all of their goggle goods, as well as their new EKS Brand hats.

The Mainline Coffee Co. is one of the newest sponsors to the TWMXRS and everyone couldn’t be more excited. With tons of different flavors and an all around style unique to their own, The Mainline Coffee Co. is definitely something to keep an eye on.

EKS Brand Goggles introduced their newest creation to fellow racers this weekend. These new sun hats are an absolute necessity on those long, hot race days.

When the racing got underway, and the heat began to take it’s toll on most riders, there were a few standouts. Tallon Lafountaine had a great run in 450 Intermediate with two moto wins for the overall. Broc Shoemaker was the overall winner in the 250 Pro class and Sean Collier was the dominant force in 450 Pro, but not without having to get around Shane McElrath and his TLD/Honda. The two had some great battles, but unfortunately, McElrath had to settle for second. Colton Aeck had some great moto finishes, too. Aeck won Pro-Open with a 1-2 and a third overall in 450 Pro. Rookie White was absolutely flying around Comp. Edge this weekend. White put on an absolute clinic in 250 Intermediate and Schoolboy (thru 17) by sweeping every single moto and finishing with commanding leads.

Sean Collier was the standout in the 450 Pro class. Collier has been trying his hand at racing, again as of late and it’s really working out great considering he is currently holding down a full-time, 9-5 job during the week!

Rookie White was on a total heater this weekend. Sweeping both 250 Intermediate and Schoolboy (thru 17), white is one kid to keep in mind in the near future.

We hope to see you at round three of the Muscle Milk TWMX Summer Cup, which will be held at Perris Raceway on July 27th. See you there!
