The fourth round of the Muscle Milk TWMX Winter Cup race series is officially in the books. The TWMXRS crowd invaded California’s oldest motocross track and Perris Raceway delivered the usual goods-big jumps, tacky dirt and deep ruts. It was another successful outing for everyone in attendance and the competition was, once again, stacked!

Cody Baker was the dominant force amongst the pros. Baker not only won both 450A and Pro-Open, but he won all four motos. Keep an eye out for this kid!

Tallon Lafountaine was undoubtedly one of the more consistent riders as his worst finish was a second place and he made it all happen by winning numerous motos and minimizing any mistakes. Lafountaine won overalls in 250B, 450B and Schoolboy thru 17.

The weather couldn’t have been anymore perfect for racing as the sun stayed behind thick cloud cover for the majority of the race day making for epic track conditions. The dirt didn’t dry out at all thanks to the efforts of the track crew and the tracks also held up really well considering a few hundred dirt bikes were hard on the gas all day. Probably the best part about a good race track, though, is that the racers can really push the limits when the dirt is nice and tacky and that was absolutely the case for round four.

Ryan Kubis has upped his speed as of late and it’s really starting to show in his results. Kubis had a bit of bad luck when it came to 250B, but was able to turn it around in Open (Non-Pro) were he took the overall with a 1-2 finish.

As expected, some of the fastest local racers came out to dice it up with one another and really give the crowd a show. Cody Baker could quite possibly be named the fastest rider at this weekend’s event as he completely dominated 450A and Pro-Open. Baker won every moto and was in complete control the whole time. One of the most consistent riders was Tallon Lafountaine. Lafountaine entered three classes-250B, 450B and Schoolboy-all of which he finished on top of the podium for the overall. Lafountaine finished with a 2-1 in 250B, 1-1 in 450B and 2-1 in Schoolboy thru 17. The Open (Non-Pro) division saw Ryan Kubis with the overall with a 2-1 finish and in the 125 2-Stroke Open class, Chase Felong was the top finisher.

If you like the sound of a young ripper aboard a screaming 125 2-stroke, then you’ll love to watch Chase Felong ride. This youngster has an aggressive style atop his 125 and can bring in some good results, as well. Felong swept both motos of the 125 2-stroke class and in dominant fashion.

So much great racing was had at the fourth round of the 2014 Winter Cup and we hope to see you all again at round five, which will be held at Cahuilla Creek MX on February 16.
