The fifth round of the 2014 Muscle Milk TWMX Winter Cup kicked off at Cahuilla Creek MX Park. The penultimate round marked the first trip to the Anza, Ca based motocross track and the outdoor style layout really delivered when it came to roughness, but that’s expected when some of Southern California’s fastest racers come out to play. The Cahuilla Creek facility offers many different types of obstacles on the vet and main tracks-rutted corners, fast sections and big jumps is what the entire establishment consists of, so not only does it make for great racing, but it helps every rider to get acclimated to harsh conditions ultimately making them a better rider in the long run.

Blake Green was absolutely on rails this weekend. Green logged a great amount of moto wins to his resume in his respected classes, but one overall victory eluded him due to a start crash.

Bradley Lionnet emerged the victor in 250 Intermediate with a 2-2 finish, but not without some hard-fought battles with Josh Mosimen and Blake Green. Lionnet stayed consistent and that’s what led him to take home the trophy.

Amongst the huge crowd in attendance was the EKS Brand Goggle crew. EKS Brand Goggles has been involved with the Muscle Milk TWMXRS since the very beginning over two years ago and has been at nearly every single round. Well, this weekend was no different as they had out on display some of their coolest styles of goggles to date for everyone to check out.

EKS Brand Goggles has been a staple at the TWMXRS for years now and for good reason. They have exceptional products at prices that everyone can afford. Not to mention their color-ways and designs are second to none.

Upon arrival in the early morning hours of round five, we noticed a huge turnout of some incredibly fast racers. Most were recognizable from prior rounds, but a lot of which were new to the series and it was great to have even more rippers to make for better racing. Blake Green is one of the relative newcomers and he’s been putting in some solid results since he started racing at these events a few months ago. Green completely swept 450 Intermediate and won the first moto of 250 Intermediate, but tangled up with another rider on the start of moto two and was forced to DNF the race. Bradley Lionnet capitalized on Green’s crash and finished with the overall in 250 Intermediate with a 2-2, but not without battles from Josh Mosimen who won the second moto. Filip Thuresson had a pretty good day as he won both motos in Pro-Open and finished with a second overall in 450 Pro just behind Justin Jones who swept both motos. Chase Felong kept his bike wringed out no matter what class he was in, but he did especially well in the 125 2-stroke Open class were he won both motos for the overall.

Filip Thuresson was a man on a mission this weekend as he won both motos in Pro-Open and also finished second overall in 450 Pro.

Chase Felong had his 125 singing all day! Felong is a blast to watch all thanks to his aggressive riding style aboard that 2-stroke of his. Felong put on an absolute clinic in the 125 Open Class by winning both motos and finishing with a commanding lead.

Tons of racing action from another TWMXRS round is in the books and we hope to see you all at the sixth and final round, which will be held at Milestone MX Ranch on March 2nd.
