FMF FACTORY 4.1 RCT ANODIZED FULL TITANIUM EXHAUST SYSTEM
APPLICATION: 2014 Honda CRF250F
PRICE: $1,249.99

We have spent one initial testing day with the all-new dual FMF Factory 4.1 RCT exhaust system mounted on our 2014 Honda CRF250R. The power gains are impressive.

WHAT IT IS:
The FMF Factory 4.1 RCT system is available for every late model four-stroke and this newest system is specifically designed for the new dual muffler equipped 2014 Honda CRF250R. The dual mufflers are designed to save weight when compared to stock and move the mass of the weight closer to the center of the machine to improve handling of the bike. The shorter dual muffler design keeps the mufflers tucked further behind the side panels, making them less susceptible to crash damage. When compared to stock, the RCT system is made to improve the overall power characteristics of the CRF250R, by adding low-end hit and top-end pull.

The entire system is made from titanium, including the MegaBomb header.

HITS:
-Complete system is much lighter than stock
-Improves top-end pull and low-end hit. The stock CRF lacks top-end pull and the FMF system allows the bike to come on stronger off the bottom and pull further in each gear up top
-Fitment is spot on when mounting the FMF system
-Carbon end-caps look very cool
-Included quieter insert is easy to install and does make a difference in sound
-While we haven't crashed on the 2014 CRF250R yet, we can attest that the dual exhaust on the 2013 CRF450R did actually stay more protected

MISSES:
-We found that without the quieter inserts, the bike was much louder with the FMF system mounted. The quieter inserts do help immensely, however, it does take away from the low-end hit
-The price is very high, however, FMF will also have a single can system available that comes with a separate side panel for the left side. We will be testing that system as soon as it's available

We found that without the quieter inserts in the mufflers the bike produced great low-end power and top-end over-rev, but it was loud. With the inserts installed, the bike lacked the low-end hit, but was much quieter.

THE VERDICT:
We have never been disappointed with the power gains provided by FMF systems, and this new dual Factory 4.1 RCT system brings out the powerful potential of the 2014 Honda CRF250R. Back before dual exhaust came stock on the CRF250R or CRF450R, FMF was experimenting with dual systems for various other bikes, so it's no surprise that they are one of the first companies to release a worthy system for the CRF250R. At the end of our first initial test with the system, we came away impressed with the power, fitment, and clean looks of the FMF Factory 4.1 RCT system. For more information on it, though, check out a future issue of TransWorld Motocross.
