Deluge Sport Drink-Backed Athletes Wrap Up 2007 Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Series Season In Vegas

CORONA, Calif., (May 7, 2007) — Deluge Sport Drink’s Josh Summey (Moto XXX) was again one of the top racers in the premier AMA Supercross class of the 2007 Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Series, finishing 8th overall in the final race at Las Vegas’ Sam Boyd Stadium on Saturday.

The event was also a farewell of sorts for longtime supercross racer Kyle Lewis (Henderson, Nev.). Lewis, 36, who’s raced pro motocross through three decades (1987-2007), made the main and ended up finishing in the top 15.

“We couldn’t be happier for Kyle. He’s an outstanding athlete that represented Deluge Sport Drink very well this past season, said Deluge’s Jon Bratta. “And Kyle’s effort at Vegas was complimented by another outstanding race by Josh Summey. Hat’s off to our Moto XXX team on a hard-fought competition season.

Both Summey (7th/heat #2) and Lewis (9th/heat #2) were able to make it out of their initial qualifiers to grab a gate on the main event starting line. In the main Summey got out in the middle of the pack (12th), then methodically worked his way up to 8th. Lewis took a similar route and was able to hold on to a top 15 place overall.

On the season Summey would finish 12th, while Lewis would finish 29th overall.

In the AMA Lites division, Deluge Sport Drink was led in the Dave Coombs Sr. Shootout by Honda’s Thomas Hahn. Hahn finished 5th overall in the final Lites race — combining the best of the best from both the East and West Lites divisions. Rounding out the Deluge-backed racers in the Lites finals were Ryan Morais in 8th, Branden Jesseman in 12th and Kyle Partridge in 18th.

Next up for the Deluge Sport-backed motocross teams and athletes is the opening round of the 2007 Toyota AMA Motocross Championship, aka the “Outdoor Nationals, in Prairie City, Calif. (Hangtown), May 20th. For more information on the Toyota AMA Motocross Championship, link to: www.amamotocross.com
