Schnell Set to Race in AMA National Arenacross Series

AURORA, Ill. (September 26, 2005) ¿ Clear Channel Entertainment¿s Motor Sports division announced today that Rockstar Suzuki¿s Greg Schnell, of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., confirmed his participation in the 2005-2006 AMA National Arenacross Series, which kicks off at Pepsi Arena in Albany, N.Y., Friday, October 28.

Schnell, 30, won last year¿s 125cc class at the U.S. Open with two first place finishes. The seasoned veteran has committed to riding in the AMA Arenacross class in 2005-2006 followed by the 125cc Eastern Regional AMA Supercross Lites class.

¿I¿ve always enjoyed racing arenacross,¿ said Schnell. ¿The tight, non-stop action is so much fun. There is a real skill to this style of racing. The new structure in the AMA National Arenacross Series allows me to focus on one class and winning the AMA National Arenacross Series championship. I¿ve raced in the Clear Channel-promoted THQ World Supercross GP/THQ AMA Supercross Series events for years, and I know that they put on a solid show. This is an exciting new venture in my career.¿

¿Suzuki is excited to put together a race program with Greg Schnell and make a run at the AMA National Arenacross Series championship,¿ said Cole Gress, motocross support manager, American Suzuki Motor Corp. ¿Greg is a known front runner on the AMA circuit with multiple 125cc supercross wins, and he looks forward to this new challenge, especially with the new race format that focuses on one premiere class. Greg will run under the Rockstar Suzuki team banner, and receive major support from Alloy MX, Renthal, Dunlop and longtime sponsor Pro Circuit Racing; and using the Rockstar Energy Drink tag line, we want to `Party like a Rockstar¿ at the AMA National Arenacross Series finals in February at the Denver Coliseum.¿

¿Greg Schnell has been a solid rider on the supercross circuit for more than 10 years, and we look forward to Greg¿s participation in the AMA National Arenacross Series,¿ said Todd Jendro, senior director of operations for Clear Channel Entertainment¿s Motor Sports division. ¿In addition, Greg will be defending his 125cc US Open title at the Grand Garden Arena on October 7-8 and plans on using that opportunity and momentum as preparation for the start of the opening round of the AMA National Arenacross Series at Pepsi Arena in Albany, N.Y., Friday, October 28.¿
