Siebler Returns to Racing This Weekend at St. Louis

Team Samsung/Radio Shack rookie returns after being on the injured reserve for seven weeks

MURRIETA, Calif., (March 10, 2004) — Team Samsung/Radio Shack’s Cole Siebler will return to racing in the 125 class this weekend at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis. Siebler has been sidelined with a back injury since mid-January.

“I’m really excited to be back this week. I was disappointed that I only got to race three rounds before injuring my back. It’s been hard sitting on the sidelines, not being able to race, said Siebler. “But, my back is 100% and I’ve kept up with my training.

“Lucky Nichols is giving me the opportunity to race these East Coast rounds, and I really appreciate it. I’m definitely looking to redeem myself and put in a good finish for my team in St. Louis, said Siebler.

Siebler surprised fans and industry onlookers by putting in a 12th place finish in his supercross debut in Anaheim on January 3rd. More impressively, the 19-year-old qualified directly into the main from his qualifier and managed to pass seven people after getting a 19th place start.

The Emmett, Idaho native struggled in Phoenix, posting a 16th place finish. At the second Anaheim round, he transferred directly into the main event from his evening qualifier and finished the main event in 11th — his career best finish.

Amazingly, although he missed three rounds of the 125 West Series, Siebler is still in the top twenty (18th place).
