Suzuki Motor Corporation Posts $250,000 in Factory Contingency for Advanstar’s BooKoo Arenacross Championship Series

Debut of Contingency Card Allows for Immediate Access to Winnings

Santa Ana, CA (August 26, 2005) — Advanstar Communications, Inc. — a leading provider of print, event and online media for the powersports, off-road and automotive aftermarket industries — today announced that Suzuki Motor Corporation will post its largest factory contingency program ever offered for Arenacross as it supports the upcoming BooKoo Arenacross Championship Series Presented by K&N Filters.

With nearly one quarter of a million dollars up for grabs in the professional and amateur racing programs at the BooKoo Arenacross Championship Series, Suzuki is making a strong statement and further enabling Advanstar’s mission to deliver Bigger Air…Better Tracks…More Speed… through the largest-ever contingency program in all of Arenacross racing.

“Adding Suzuki to our long list of industry supporters is a great way to demonstrate appreciation to our racers, fans and sponsors,” said Mike Kidd, Arenacross Race Director for Advanstar. “Suzuki is committing to the largest contingency they’ve ever offered the sport and its riders, and that’s a testament to their dedication and belief in the Advanstar program across the country and throughout the year.”

Suzuki Motor Corporation has taken factory contingency one step further with the release of their Value-Added Contingency Cards. Professional racers will now be able to use these cards anywhere that Visa or MasterCard is accepted, even to withdraw cash at the nearest ATM. For amateurs, this advancement means immediate access to spend their winnings at the local Suzuki dealership, with additional dollars applied directly to their new card throughout the season.

Skip Johnson, Vice President of Advanstar, commented on the tremendous support from Suzuki. “Suzuki knows what it takes to draw an enthusiast crowd, and their strategies in the marketplace are confirmation of that understanding.” He continued, “Once again we have secured another leading company’s support for our motorcycle consumer program.”
