MotoSport Outlet, the Eugene, Oregon mail order company, and the leader in off-road motorcycle accessories and apparel, is pleased to announce the formation of a new Supercross / Nationals team for the 2004 Season: Team MotoSport Outlet / MSR / White Brothers / Honda.
The team will consist of Australian Motocross and Supercross Champion Craig Anderson #30, Canadian National Champion Jean-Sebastien Roy (JSR) #68, former 125cc Supercross winner Justin Buckelew #159, Oregon holeshot artist Tiger Lacey #221, and rookie Sean Collier.
Craig Anderson will ride the 250cc class aboard a CR250R for Supercross and a CRF450R for the outdoors. JSR will ride in the 250cc class aboard a CRF450R in the West Supercross, then move to the 125 class for the East series aboard the CRF250R. Justin Buckelew and Sean Collier will ride the 125cc West aboard CRF250R¿s and Tiger Lacey will join JSR in the 125 East aboard a CRF250R. All will compete in the Nationals in their respective classes, except for JSR, who will return to Canada to defend his Canadian title.
The team will be jointly owned by Bill Butcher, owner of MotoSport Outlet, and Bill Tanner, former team manager of 2002 Supercross Team of the Year Blackfoot Honda. “The formation of a race team is a natural extension of our commitment to the racing community,” says MotoSport Outlet Owner Bill Butcher, “our entire staff of dedicated off-road enthusiasts has helped make the team possible.” Bill Tanner will also be serving as the team manager. “We have assembled a highly skilled mix of riders and technicians to create an extremely competitive team in our first year,” say Mr. Tanner, “we expect to surprise a lot of people.”
The team will be based out of the White Brothers race facility, and White Brothers will be providing engine modifications and exhaust work. We are excited to announce that Alan Olson and John Anderson, the team leaders for White Brothers during their two year run as Four Stroke National Champions, will play significant roles on the new team. Alan will be heading up all technical development for the team. “Alan’s experience and reputation in the industry are second to none,” says team manager Tanner, “we are lucky to have him.” John will play a key role as team coordinator, responsible for industry and sponsor relations.
