#WhipItWednesday | 2015 Oakland SX
After a dud of a weekend in Anaheim, the drain plugs finally reemerged in Oakland as riders took to the O.co Coliseum track for round four of Monster Energy Supercross. Plenty of whips were thrown throughout practice and the night show, and below are some of our favorites from TWMX photographer Ryne Swanberg.
Although the main event did not go well for Ken Roczen, the number 94 put on a strong display of style under the Oakland sun during practice with massive whips like this one. It’s no wonder why Roczen found himself right at home a few weeks ago in the hills of Reche Canyon with some of freeriding’s elite.
Peek-a-boo, Josh Grant can see you. Grant has been a whip throwing regular on his TwoTwo Motorsports Kawasaki at every round so far this season, and he certainly had the grease meter cranked for this one.
Obviously, we have to mention Red Bull KTM’s Ryan Dungey, because it’s not too often that you see Dungey cutting loose with a little extra swing in his step like he did here.
GEICO Honda’s Eli Tomac often gives off that “old-school racer” vibe, but not when it comes to airing out the number three CRF450R. Tomac can throw whips with the best of them.
