Women¿s Motocross-Supercross Foundation (WMXF) To Host Second Annual Anaheim Luncheon To Support The Sport!

Hard working group of women spending extra time/ effort to raise $$$  for worthy causes

ANAHEIM, Calif., (Jan. 26, 2005) ¿ The Women¿s Motocross-Supercross Foundation (WMXF), a group of MX/SX industry women whose goal is to raise money for various industry not-for-profit organizations – such as the Asterisk Mobile Medical Unit and several privateer causes –  will hold its second annual Anaheim Luncheon next Friday (Feb. 4) at Angel Stadium¿s Diamond Club.

The WMXF, which has put on such successful fundraiser events as last year¿s highly successful ¿Motobowl¿ event, launches its 2005 motocross/supercross industry `worthy cause¿ fundraising efforts next week with this event in Anaheim ¿ coinciding with Round Five of the 2005 THQ/AMA Supercross Series.

¿This event last year was what really got us started, brought the WMXF together and got the fundraising efforts going for the motocross and supercross industry,¿ said Megan Barnhart, WMXF member and Anaheim Luncheon chairperson. ¿The charity within our industry is amazing. People who follow the sport, we feel, are inherently caring people who are quick to dig into their pockets to help out a worthy cause.

¿And the WMXF was formed to help organize this generosity by bringing the industry and fans together with good-time events such as the Anaheim Luncheon.¿

The luncheon will open at 10 a.m. with a silent auction, hosted by ESPN supercross reporter Jamie Little (who will emcee the rest of the event as well). Auction items include everything from spa treatments to diamond jewelry, the most sought-after item is expected to be two VIP tickets to the Las Vegas Supercross ¿ donated by Clear Channel Motorsports. Lunch will be served at 11 a.m., followed by a presentation by the WMXF. Then highlighting the festivities at the Anaheim Luncheon will be featured speaker Carol Stacy, a highly successful and nationally-known marketing business owner.

¿The WMXF is very excited about the many opportunities we¿ll have this year to help out the motocross and supercross industry,¿ said Barnhart. ¿There are so many great causes: From the plight of the privateer to our highly important at-track medical facility, the WMXF will be there to assist where ever we can.¿
