The search for the ultimate ruler of the Red Bull X-Fighters tour 2007 goes on. Ten of the world’s best freestyle motocross athletes will head south this time to hit the event’s home turf Madrid, Spain. US-American Mr Double Backflip Travis Pastrana, master of style and ambition Eigo Sato (JPN), showman Ronnie Renner (USA), Swiss FMX machine Mat Rebeaud, “The Destroyer Nate Adams (USA), and tour leader Dany Torres (ESP) are ready for another breathtaking FMX battle against gravity in Madrid’s beautiful Las Ventas bullfighting arena.
Madrid, Spain is getting ready to host yet another one-of-a-kind FMX Fiesta Espanola. For the third and final tour stop of the prestigious Red Bull X-Fighters freestyle motocross contest series international FMX superstars as well as a group of aspiring new talents will invade Madrid’s spectacular and most beautiful Ventas bullfighting arena on 27 July 2007 to thrill and enthuse an expected 23,000 spectator crowd!
The previous Red Bull X-Fighters tour events have generated worldwide enthusiasm for FMX and its protagonists’ battle against gravity. In Mexico City’s Monumental Plaza de Toros bullfighting arena, Latino young gun Dany Torres (ESP) became the triumphant No 1 motorero and celebrated his first Red Bull X-Fighters victory ahead of Nate Adams (USA) and Robbie “Maddo Maddison (AUS). Brave Mat Rebeaud (SUI) had reached an amazing 4th place despite a recent broken femur injury. The next tour event at historical Slane Castle, Ireland saw legendary Travis Pastrana (USA) becoming the “High King on two wheels with an explosive performance on an extremely technical freestyle track set-up at the foot of the castle with Mat Rebeaud taking 2nd place and Dany Torres coming in third.
Dany Torres ahead of Mat Rebeaud and Travis Pastrana — the current tour ranking reflects the high level of riding at the Red Bull X-Fighters. Having skipped the Slane Castle tour stop, master of technique and confidence Nate Adams is back for the Madrid event eager to catch up. Adams as well as Pastrana, Rebeaud, Ronnie Renner (USA) and Eigo Sato (JPN) will be challenged by a group of aspiring young FMX athletes in four head-to-head rounds. Competing in pairs (but one after the other) each rider has 90 seconds time to play and perform. Following the first two rounds are the semi-finals, consolation round and final with the crowning of the glorious winner. New to the FMX set-up in Madrid will be a huge quarterpipe which has been a spectacular success in the track set-up of the Slane Castle event. This special feature will present another runway for the riders to launch themselves into the night sky of Madrid.
