Zach Osborne | No Time To Waste
While most riders couldn’t wait for the final flag of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, Zach Osborne was just finding his stride. Multiple injures in 2013 and 2014 riddled his time with the GEICO Honda, the last of which kept him from lining up behind the gate until Unadilla. A lack of results would often be a major concern for someone in-between rides, but Osborne luckily earned a place on the Rockstar Energy Racing team, which has been deemed the factory effort for Husqvarna’s return to racing.
Osborne is a perfect fit for the European brand. Both are willing to compete in any kind of motorcycle race taking anywhere in the world, and this was evident in Osborne’s enlistment for the 2014 ISDE race in Argentina, the Genova Supercross in Italy, and Red Bull’s A Day in the Dirt off-road rally. Seeing a travel schedule that long is already impressive, but then one remembers Osborne and his wife welcomed their first daughter before he flew out for the aforementioned events. That proves just how into riding a motorcycle Osborne really is.
Since rains hammered Southern California on Friday morning and flooded every practice track, Osborne made the trip to Carlsbad for a meeting with his agents at Wasserman Media Group but managed to drop by our offices for a quick interview.
We are using this offseason as a test session, just like the race teams, so we decided to post the entire audio file of our interview. Good call or dumb decision? Let us know with a mention on Twitter by tagging @twmxdotcom…
