Every spot matters on the first lap of a Lucas Oil Pro Motocross National, even if it means putting yourself within inches of collision with another rider.

The 450 class in this summer’s Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship is one of the most competitive ever. Red Bull KTM teammates Ken Roczen and Ryan Dungey have established themselves as the ones to beat through the first two stops of the season, and it’s apparent both can unleash an incredible amount of speed the moment the gate drops (Have a look at Dungey’s holeshot in the Roczen video for proof). Still, there’s no way the rest of the pack will let the number one plates be earned without a fight and the talents of James Stewart, Justin Barcia, Trey Canard and more will do all the can to take the checkered flag. There is a battle for every spot on the track this summer, and the footage from the 2014 GoPro Hangtown Motocross Classic shows just that.
