“The East coast swing is in full effect for the summer months as the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship headed to Blountville, Tennessee for round four. The courses in the East are in my opinion some of the best tracks on the circuit. Muddy Creek made a few changes this year and I thought they were great, and it was the best Muddy Creek we have seen yet. There were plenty of ruts in Tennessee, and it definitely got hot with all of the humidity, but it wasn’t as hot as it typically is there. Another thing I noticed was the enormous jumps that they put in and it definitely added a new element to the famed raceway, as I thought the jumps had been kind of lacking there the last few years. Everyone thought it was going to be a snoozer in the 450 class after Eli Tomac’s season-ending crash last weekend, but Ken Roczen has continued to get better over the last few weeks from a preseason injury and stepped it up in Tennessee with a moto win to keep his title hopes alive. The 250 class has been another story with Marvin Musquin and Jeremy Martin trading moto wins all year long. Martin capitalized on a bad start from Musquin in the second moto to gain a few points on him in the championship chase. We are heading north to Pennsylvania this weekend to the best track on the circuit, High Point Raceway! See you at the races!” —TWMX photographer, Ryne Swanberg
